Wylwin Farm is a small farm business located approx 20 Km southeast of Lakefield.  The farm is 124 acres with 50 acres in bush and wetlands.  The vegetable garden is 4 acres in area.  The balance of the fields are slowly being re-juvenated for pasture and hay production in future.

Everything is grown naturally – no pesticides, no herbicides, or chemical fertilizers.  The seeds used on our farm are all purchased from local seed houses.  We use only certified organic seeds, organic , sustainably grown or untreated seeds.  No treated seeds or GMO’s are used.

We practice biological pest control – enticing natural predators like ladybugs, praying mantis, toads, frogs, and yes-even snakes into the garden.  Hand picking of pest is also done.

Weeds and vegetables are all handpicked.  The vegetable are picked at their peak for nutritional value and taste.

Our vegetables are all sold locally at Lakefield Farmers Market, Peterborough Farmers Market (Sat.), and a local food Co-op..

When we all purchase locally, we all take part in supporting the community we live in.  We all participate in protecting the environment with a low-carbon footprint – that starts at the farm.
